Im assuming that females wont develope any anterior bristles as i have 2 fish bought a couple of months ago and both about 3", one was quick to spike up heavily around the tail and anterior regeion, the second fish i thought was female has now started to show signs of spikes on the top ray of its tail leading me to think it is a sub dominant male.

anyone else keep these that can comment as im aware certain sp of peckoltia will have both sexes spike

Normally females of most part of peckoltia sp. are without any tail odontodes. Lineola is one of the classical representatives
