Compare with this typical patterned L333

I think your fish could be L401 or L66.

I think it's not L333, for me your fish is 99% L401 and should not be mixed with real L333.

I am sure Janne is correct with .

is a distinctive fish, and this name is almost always used incorrectly.

I asked for these to be identified several years ago and the consensus then was L401.
They never had as much contrast as the black and white fish shown. Still the same fish? They were sold to me as L333.

Birger's is a particularly striking one, but I think they are the same (). Janne will correct me if I'm wrong.

As you know, they are always sold as "L333 Alenquer".

I agree Apistomaster's fish are L401s too. All the L333s I've ever had retain their gold color as adults. These fish look more bronze. I'd like to see more pics.

I think for a correct ID you should photograph the whole fish, so including the head. L333 has large eyes and they are positioned more at the top of the head. L401 has a more slender headshape and the eyes are somewhat smaller.
I would go with L401 rather than L333.

If you are asking about my L401 I lost all 12 overnight during the last major remodel of my fish area.
I was a heart breaking disaster as I also lost two breeding/producing pairs of Red Turquoise Discus in the same accident.
I may have more photos on a computer that is presently in the shop.
I used a photo I had on photobucket. It showed the whole fish but was cropped when posted.
I may have more photos of them on a lap top currently in the shop. When I get it back I can upload whole photo(s).

Birger's fish is L401 just like Larry's fish is L401, same answer today Larry as the first time, second time, third time... ;)

jac,
The body shape and head shape is very similar L333 but they do have a little smaller eyes (L401).
