Small Catfish

Post by Hmoobthor »

Looking for some input on what type of small catfish catfish to get..when i say catfish catfish...no pleco, or corys.

I would like to know which catfish can go into a 20g long tank which will soon be run with a 256gph canister filter...

Must not grow so big or need to be in groups...maybe 2 will be fine..and good in community tank.

Right now, my honeycomb catfish are not doing so well, since introducing a female has result in Ick and has kill both the female and male. Only one male is hanging on and I pretty sure this catfish don't do well with Ick (told by Apistomaster). So if I lose this one, I'm not getting any more of them. Thats where I am lookout for a new catfish soon once wherething clears up.

What other fish are you going to keep in your tank?

Until I got to the last paragraph, my thought was some sort of species, but since you don't want one of those, I'm not sure what to suggest... Perhaps a small species?

I'm sure others will suggest something nice.

are usually available, small and kind of novel as they most often swim upside down.

If you come across any or they are interesting as well.

All these have the benefit of being fairly hardy as well.

did some reasearch on them..not bad..
would one of these Microsynodiontis batesii do well in community tank or well with other catfish like my honeycomb?

if not..i might just go for cory adolfoi cause most of the catfish tend to hide all the time.

The Microsynodontis tend to be quite secretive especially when without others of its own kind but you could easily fit a small group...if you really want to see the fish you put into the tank regularly then you are better to go with the cory you have chosen.

ya..I think its better if I just get some corys as those microsynodiontis would hide too much...pretty interesting fish.
