So Ive had the group of 4 since early march and they seem to be doing very well burring in the substrate hidding in theyre caves but lately 3 of the 4 are getting very rounded and less active I feed every other day on a quality sinking pellet and blood worms and veggies about once a week (Started as snail food but turns out it was a hit with everyone.)and make sure that noones being a bully with the food. (Mine will eat with lights on but their only tank mates are 3 Bandit Corys and 4 baby golden apple snails so I guess they dont mind. There temperatures are warm 78-79 degrees and the water is slightly hard at aprox. 7.8 but these have been constant since Ive gotten them. Im not sure if this is cause for concern or if the females are simply coming into adulthood. I just cant seem to find photos of these cats that look like this so Im wondering if its normal or if they're expecting or ever just if im doing somthing wrong. The one has also began digging in the substrate in and around a flower pot the was tiped on its side, any info anyone can give me would be very nice. Thank you in advance, I know most of the pairing with these cats are by accident so Im not sure whats going on in there. :-p (*) :-p

A photo would really help us here. They could be females becoming gravid or just a little fat but feeding every other day should prevent the latter (unless you feed too much on the days you do feed).

What veggies do you feed? - these fish are not particularly herbivorous by nature prefering small substrate dwelling organisms, worms, shrimps etc
