hello again guys

A friend game me 2 catfishes, one of them a normal sailfin of 20/30cm that i am trying to get a owner since its way to big for my taste even if it is a wonder to see.

Now the thing is he had this beautiful little catfish that i can´t ID. is he a L201 ? i have been looking in my Aqualog but i can´t get it right. the moron that kept her (because of the belly i guess its a she) mixed cat fish whit loaches, i guess he didn´t have enough covers for all fish so the loaches might have gauged her eyes (that's why he is giving me these guys now.... to late).

The first one looks like - but photo of the mouth showing the teeth would confirm.
(Quite possibly female)

Second one is quite likely .

as soon i can my hands in it i will try to photograph is mouth, but from what i see i think its the one. Never thought of it being a panaque...

It is certainly not L102 (Hypancistrus inspector), but it could be L201. I don't think it looks that much like P. albomaculatus, which typically has a different tail fin shape.

I would think it is more of a L201.

If it's a Rio Orinoco Hypancistrus, then I'd say it's based on the higher body-shape.

Mmm the contraden has a solid black tail more likely a small spot variety think it l136 or something like that.

It can´t be a L136, they are way to spoty

Agreed, this isn't L136. I don't think it's contradens, which AFAIK has larger spots than L201.

I agree, H. lunaorum is a good candidate. I also tend to forget about it when discussing Hypancistrus...
