Reluctantly getting rid of all my fish... Bargains to be had

Post by MatsP »

Due to circumstances outside of my control, I will have to give up fishkeeping for the time being.
Unless otherwise stated, the price is for the whole group - and I don't really want to split groups.
If you think the prices are wrong, just make a reasonable offer (in a PM!)

I will make some reasonable effort to deliver/meet half-way/etc. I've never shipped fish, and I don't think

I have the following fish on offer:
4 x £80 (around 15cm/6" long, one male noticably smaller, 2f/2m as best as I can tell - cost me £120, and around here they are £45 each for 3-4" fish)

5-6x - mature fish, have laid eggs. Make me an offer.
9x Geophagus sp 'Tapajos Red head' - £50 for the group (cost me £9 each)

2x Geophagus surinamensis £10 (unsexed, ID as sold as and close to match in Weidner's book)

1x , 4" - £20 (I paid £32 for the fish a year ago)
1x . 5" - £20 (male)

9x - £40 [Cost me around £120 in two different groups]
10x - £30

4x £10 each or £30 for the group - large, around 18-20cm/7-8".

8x , not quite mature at 4cm/1.5" - £40

8x - £20 (males and females, unsure of count)

4x - £20 (unsexed around 6cm/2.5", I bought them 5 for £40 at CSG auction - they are usually £15-20 each at 8cm)

5x - £20 (nice size, 8-10cm/3-4")

9x - £50 (6-8cm/2.5-3" I paid £90)

5x - £50 (cost me £120 for 6)

4x - £20

1x - £10 (male, nice!)

5x Melanotaenia parva £20 (mature, spawns regularly)

I'm sure I've missed some. I'll post tomorrow with equipment and bits and pieces.

[And please don't clutter this thread too much with "Sorry to hear that", etc]

Now, it would seem I've got some friends that are better than I thought, so there is a good chance I don't have to get rid of (all of) my fish after all.

I'm sorry for any confusion, but I'm sure you understand that I'd rather have that as a solution.

Hi Mats, sorry to hear - though I'm glad your able to retain (some of?) your fish.
Are you able to keep all of your fish or are you still having to sell some of them (and if so, which)? (I'm sorry, I couldn't think of a better way to put the question).

Thanks
Harry

I'm pretty sure most of the fish will be possible to keep - basically, someone offered to take my tanks into their fishroom. I have already got rid of some, and I have had offers for a few others.

There are still some details to be sorted out, and certainly there are some fish I'd be more happy to get rid of than others.

Thankfully, the underlying issue that gave rise to this post in the first place is now resolved, so I should be able to pick up the fish that I've still got in a few days.
