Am I a Panda or a Bandit?

Ok so I was in my local LFS and I fell in love with the little black and white cats zipping around their South american stock tank. I have never had a problem with this store actuly their pritty fantaztic about everything and thats comming from someone who has had LOTS of problems with pet stores. The thing is I didnt recignise them right away besides that they were corys. So I asked the guy I normally talk to who knows his stuff for the most part, he said they were Pandas and what reason did I have to doupt. Afeter getting home however I noticed that my "pandas" had a stripe that went down their back conecting the fin and tail not a dot at the tail base. So I was wondering if it was possible they were likely to be masked/bandit/false bandit corys or if it was simply that they were juviniles. About 1/2 inch.

Chances are they are not panda if the black at the base of the dorsal fin runs down the back to join the black at the start of the caudal - possibly - check pics in cat-e-log there are plenty of great shots exhibiting all the probable species

Thanks a lot for the help. They do look a lot like Corydoras metae, which is slightly disapointing for the credit of the LFS. But if thats what they came in as its an honest mistake. Im happy with them anyway and theyre doing well.

Around here, C. metae are more expensive and difficult to find than C. panda.
