hi friends
i have a new 200 liter tank (100 x 50 x 40)
i love some L numbers
i want a good combination of l numbers and other catfish if its possible
and maybe (if waterflow permits) any tetra or similar to have more "movement"

examples : platydoras , corys , hoplos , agamixys....
l numbers that i like (maybe oversized for mi tank) leoporacanthicus , pseudacanthicus , baryancistrus (i love demantoides), hypancistrus , and all black plecos with spots like ancistrus dolichopterus and others ( i love black fish)

in other words , colourfull l numbers with a chance of breeding and good companions with prehistoric look
hope you can see my dreamed tank
can you help me with some stock ideas?

Hi.

Well, what you can keep all depends on what you can get. What's the local selection like, and are you prepared to make a longer trip to get what you want? Can you get fish delivered in Spain?

Your tapwater will also have an influence. Really hard water, and you should avoid blackwater species. If your water is polluted with nitrates and phosphates, you'd best avoid sensitive species.

If you want to breed them, then you should keep a species tank. Of course you could grow them up in mixed company, but for best results move them into their own tank later.

Ok maybe breed is nice but i like a display tank too
somethig beauty to see and a little chance to see reproduction succesfull or not
my tapwater is middle hard ph in seven more or less
usually we can found here baryancistrus l81 and the black and white spot baryancistrus
sometimes we found leoporacanthicus vampire black(i dont remember the l number)
Doradids and more. Bayan demantoides..... sturiosoma pimelodus and more
hypancistrus inspector too but i think that i should try to find others
the question is more about size of tank and fish and stock combinations
there is no nice l numbers for a few species comunnity tank?
Something like=lnumber group \ other little and friendly cats or so¿
all species need to breed alone¿

It is certainly much better for the fish if you are going to breed them, to keep one species in a tank. It doesn't mean you can't keep some tetras or other small, friendly fish. Corydoras would be another possibility.

I also would say that your tank isn't quite big enough for large Loricariidae. Most Baryancistrus, many Leporacanthicus, and I think all known Pseudacanthicus grow too large for this size tank. Some of the Hemiancistrus species are known to be smaller, e.g. .

are almost all smaller, as are most .
