Would you mind me asking when you got them? The reason I ask is I also ordered some from Glaser and they were only able to send one.

Cheers,

If anyone would care to comment on the likely suitable requirements for this species from this river I'd be grateful.

I'm currently holding one of these Chaetostoma and after moving fish houses its being housed with my H. zebra, considering it's probably the most stable tank. Only concern is it's at 28C (reduced from 29C) and I don't want to fry the Chaetostoma, considering it's value. Other parameters are stable.

Cheers,
Mark.

I think DO is more important than temperature for these fishes at least for a few weeks. However, I'd not personally keep it that warm. I think also, given where it comes from, pH7 or higher. The other worry I'd have about keeping it with H. zebra is food. It won't eat the same things, but might try. So I'd keep off feeding the zebras things like Tetra prima or equivalent.

If anyone would care to comment on the likely suitable requirements for this species from this river I'd be grateful.
Glaser recommends they be kept at 68F-75F (20C-24C), which is about right for a typical Andean stream in Peru. No Chaetostoma will survive at 82.5F (28C) for an extended period of time, even with massive O2 saturation of the tank. The Rio Pisqui is white water, so pH should be near neutral and the water in the soft-medium soft range. Habitat, from looking at photos, is pretty standard for the genus. Rounded rocks, some driftwood and high current.

These are a Pimelodid catfish are they not?
I have never seen this pretty particular species but they grow too large for me but I can still admire their handsome looks.

Are you omitting the asking price for a reason? I am interested but it, obviously, depends...

It's one of the smaller ones, Larry, usually topping out at 1'-1.5' only: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/_s ... ies_id=725
