Pictures of "Paltydoras sp new" look very much like Orinocodoras eigenmanni to me.

Best to ask them, as I wouldn't have a clue.

I read about this shop in PFK as a "mecca for catfishes", but I'd never even heard of it or seen it mentioned here at PC.

Stocklist looks really good. Anyone actually been there?

I'm with Mats on this ,that adipose fin looks way to large for a uranoscopus plus the video shows nothing but Orinocodoras.

Hi all,
"Rare Aquatics" belongs to Jo and Nick Crane, Jo is a well known catfish breeder in the N.W. of the UK, who has expanded her hobby into a shop. I've known Jo "virtually" for a number of years (via "the British Cichlid Association" & "Plecoplanet/Plecofanatics") and she is a fish keeper with a shop, not a shop keeper with fish.

I'd I would have absolutely no hesitation in doing business with her, and I'm sure she would be very interested in the correct ID of any of the imported fish.

cheers Darrel

I've been to rare aquatics and I must say it is quite small but has some very impressive stock in well maintained display tanks. The prices I saw were reasonable too. I would recommend it highly to any catfish enthusiast as they seem to be there speciality.

Cheers Matt

Anyone have March PFK to hand? There is an article about Rare Aquatics, and they said the T.galaxias were mentioned - i'd be interested to see a picture if there is one there to confirm ID before ordering and ending up with T.intermedia...
These are nearly always T.intermedia, but it does seem like these gys know their stuff re: catfish.
I'll call them tomorrow i think and get the ball rolling on an order, so if anyone localish to me wants anything and wants to share the postage costs, shout.
Martin

They have Orinocodoras listed as Platydoras but it might be worth a punt to see what they are, you never know

all my plecos i have ever bought have come from rareaquatics i have to say it is one of the best places to go if your looking for something new to liven up your aquarium i havent as yet seen anything in the monster catfish sizes coming in like red tails or tiger shovelnoses but for anyone with tastes in plecos corydoras and other similiar species id highly recomend them the best fishkeepers ive met so far and by far the most healthy displays of small to medium size catfish i have so far seen the shop is small but the stock is in such a wide range i go there for one fish and end up coming out with three or four usually i can gothere for picking up food for my other fish and spend hours upon hours looking on in amazement even though the store is small
