I used to have 3 emerald brochis cats, and 3 bronze cories in my 20 gallon tank. And they all schooled together; was very nice.

However, when my largest brochis died, the bronze school together, leaving the 2 surviving brochis alone.

What gives?

Hello Taratron,

could it be possible that your bronze cories might be males and saw your brochis as being one heck of an over sized female? or could it be possible that the brochis are not schooling with the bronze (feeling a bit lonely due to there close companion dieing, and needing time to themselves) instead of the other way around?

I know when I started with brochis a few years back, I had a nice school going with them and my cories, but when a few bit the gravel the remaining 2 didnt want anything to do with the cories. litteraly to the point of being on the opposite side of the tank. It was a weird site to see.

maybe try picking up another brochis (or 2 but I would go anymore then that) and see if the schooling starts back up.

Well good luck to ya,
Travis
