i have some new apistos and want to join em up with a hypoptopoma or 3 plus a few other fish in a planted tank. is this a good idea if i want to save the fry? do they eat dwarf cichlid fry or eggs?
i'm not sure of the exact species

I wouln't think that Hypoptopoma are a big threat to fry or eggs - but if the eggs are left unguarded, I'm pretty sure ANY fish will have a go...

Zero threat to fry and virtually zero threat to eggs I'd suggest. I've bred
Apistogramma cacatoides in a tank with
s.

it looks like i'm going to find out then. i have 5 Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis in a 10 gal, soon to go to a 30 gal. i have 2 more of these hypoptopoma, i think that 3 should be good. they are sure good for algae control.
