Anyone know how this differs from A. torosus (other than what river it lives in)?

Aguarunichthys tocantinsensis has a deeper body, larger eye, more gill rakers, and more spots on the body than A. torosus.

Aguarunichthys tocantinensis, as its name implies, comes from the Tocantins River in Brazil.

About 30-40 cm.

Yes, but they prefer a current as they are found in faster-flowing stretches of rivers.
