King Tiger, Sexing Question

Yo PlanetCatfish,

I wasn't looking for someone to sex specimens, rather hoping someone could go into more detail about anything and everything that would help distinguish the difference between a male and a female. Including things such as ideal length, or at what size/age sexing becomes more reliable etc etc. Everything and anything will be greatly appreciated. I've checked the Cat E-Log out, but I just wanted to get all the information I could!

Thanks for your time! :YMPEACE:

If you only have a single specimen, it's often hard. With a group of them, it's often possible to pick out males from females based on a combination of body shape ("fat" = female), head shape ("wide where it joins the main body" = male), pectoral fins rays ("thick" = male) and odontodal growths ("hairy rear/pectoral fin" = male).

There may be other differences too. It's always easier to sex the fish if it's viewed from above against a light-coloured background.
