Very nice set up Polkadot, Have you had any luck with them yet?

The caves on the LHS of the picture, what are they made out of?
My wife made the mistake of buying me a 2 ft tank and it grew to 7ft.

Hi doctorweb,

I had them around 2-3 months, have been "renovating" the tank so often that I think I've spoilt their desire to breed if any!

Those "caves" on the RHS are made from clay, got them from the plant nursery.

Hi, well I saw that you are using the powerd head suction without nothing in that part.. How can you avoid that one of your loricarid can be caughted for this powerful part of the power head?? or What would your recommend for someone of us..?? Because is really interesting that I could have this powerful current in the tank. Or Is it really dangerous..??

Hi Pleco33, the suction part of the powerhead are too small to cause any damage to a pleco. Unless its a half-death pleco or a baby fry, it'll be safe for now! :D

What's the plan with the rocks on top of the wood?
usually the wood's on top of the rocks....

I used to do this. Its becuase the wood still floats if unburdened - it's a good idea until they fall off! Better to tie them to rocks.

Now my question. Why use bogwood when very little of it exists in the zebra's natural habitat? Is it for cosmetic reasons?

Yah, those rocks are there to hold on to the floating woods.

Jools, I could find enough big rocks / slates to design that biotope for the L046. :?

is the water passing through an eheim canister and then into the trickle chambers on top of the tank? if so, nice set-up!
Meanwhile, Homer catches a legendary catfish, General Sherman, but to prove his love for Marge he throws it back in the lake...
