Change Species, Keep Data in my species

I'm not sure if I just can't figure it out or if there is a problem but when I click on "Change species, keep data" on the my species page, the page that comes up looks just like the edit species page and I can't change the species. The URL is different (has the &edmode=change_id at the end), but it is identical to the edit species page and I can't change the species of the fish that the store had mislabeled.

Also, why can't you change species name when it's not in an aquarium...
And I agree, it's either so cryptic that I can't figure it out either, or the "change species" doesn't work.

Ah, the "Farlowella acus feature"! It doesn't work. Sorry, you'll have to leave it with me - I will update here.

If you're talking about my fish specifically it isn't the Farowella acus I want to change (which I'm no longer keeping) but the Ariopsis seemanni which really looks more like Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. Sorry if I misunderstood.

No, the "Farlowella acus" is referring to the fact that the shops often display fish called "Farlowella acus", but the fish that truly is F. acus is not exported from Venezuela - there are fish exported that have a location in Venezuela, but those are from the border between Venezuela and Colombia, but north Venezuela is not a location that have any export at all. So clearly, everyone that has registed F. acus (except those that either live in Venezuela or have personally smuggled the fish out of Venezuela) own some other Farlowella species.

I'll have to go to the lfs sometime and take some pics to figure out what it is they're selling and that I bought. Too bad I won't be able to change the species and keep the data.

Jools is working on it - perhaps not right this very moment in time, but I'd expect an update in a couple of days or so to either say "It's fixed" or "It'll take a while".

No apology required at all, in fact I should apologise for my "in joke". Perhaps also I saw you note that you were no longer keeping this. Yeah, and I don't mind changing it for you in the meantime manually. Can you just double check the species you want it changed to?
I'll also change the
to
too?
Cheers,
Jools

OK, cool, both changes made. We'll keep this topic in here until I fix the "Change species, keep data" issue to begin with.
Cheers,
