L046 Lighting

Post by Matt30 »

Hi everyone

Sorry if this has be posted before but dose anyone not use lights in there aquariums
that just contain Zebars and if so are there any real down sides to doing this ?
The room there in is well lit.

I have a Juwel 125 Rio Zebar aquarium with the duel lights and its realy bright and I
heard that some people dont use lights at all and some just use less powerful bulbs.

Any help would be great
:d

No, lighting is not necessary, not for the fish anyway, only for us to check on them and to see into the tank.. As it is a well lit room also.

you could try getting a cheap LED strip light from ebay from under a tenner if you did want it lit... cheaper to run and better than the T5 or T8's in your rio...

I stopped using lights on all 3 of my zebra tanks last year. I use one when I am doing vacuuming however.

Hi Im only turning the lights on for three hours a day mainley just to see them and leaving
the room light on from 0900-2200 and all my Zebars are coming out and have
now claimed a clay breeding cave each and hang there tails out to catch the passing current. What a defrents this has made wish I had done this sooner.
Cheers for the advice :-BD
