Post by grokefish »

Right I have 2 dead young chatostoma (bred in the tank) and a megladoras with strange stringy stuff coming out its ass.
Any ideas?

I put it in tank talk because I didnt want to put it in Doradids forum or the pleco forum.

Thanks
One more bucket of water and the farce is complete.

That's a internal bacterial infection I'd bet. You should try using Metro.

With your experience I reckon you would recognise something straight-forward, so this might be the effect of something unlikely... such as... maybe something toxic found its way into the tank? Or contaminated food? Or contaminated water at the last waterchange?
Looks nasty. Maybe do a bi-i-ig water change for starters? I hope your megladoras pulls through.
