Guys, thank you for your interest, albeit you are too generous in your appraisals of our property. I saw this thread by an accident. I've not been on PC much in the last 8 days - my main toy, the basement pond, sprang a leak, so I've been building another pond next to it to temporarily house the fish so that I could drain the main one and patch it up. Hopefully, this I will document this endeavor on my (inappropriate) ad page.
I will comply with your requests too, although we got ~2-3 feet of snow in the last 10 days. It is mostly white out there
Stand by...

BTW, when I get my place in April, will you come build me a pond Viktor?

NVcichlids, I think you were asking for this (or at least I think this is what CRkinney had in mind when he started this thread?)

I'd be thrilled to build you a pond even for free but my time is spoken for... not that things cannot change, just that they are not likely to change in that direction..
Andy, thank you much too - that's my "indoor" page - that's the basement pond that got punctured...

What an incredible garden (both in Summer and in Winter)! I'm more than a little jealous, I'm so hopeless with gardening I'd never manage to keep something so magnificent in such good order.
It's also lovely to see bird feeding stations

YOUR GARDEN IS STILL A THING TO BEHOLD
Where are the fish?

Thank you, Dee and Crkinney! You probably mean koi and Co: you saw their "breather-hole" with a bubbler line wrapped in yellow glass wool in a couple of shots... they are in the ice- and snow-covered pond, on the very bottom where the water is the warmest at 4 C (at 4 C or ~39 F, the density of water is the highest and that is why fish overwinter at the bottom; important not to disturb that warm (relative to the colder water above) layer with your bubbler).

Viktor - I just wanted to say hello from another Rochesterian - You have incredible ponds and tanks. Love the huge cats and the fact that you are giving them a good home!

Yes - imagine that! I am actually enjoying this latest round of heavy snow, cause my other half is planning a snowmobile trip for the weekend. This means uninterupted tank maintenance time for me - and maybe even a trip to the lfs!
