Hello,
well I've received a shipment from western africa. I've ordered few species of chiloglanis and microsynodontis but due to a high water level my exporter failed to catch them. As a gift I have received 3 little gems. I'm not sure what they are. In the begining I thought maybe a form of nigriventris but I haven't seen them swimming upside down. Here are photos:

Maybe a young batesi but I'm not sure. Fish are around 3-5 cm.
Thanks.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I think these are young . There is a drawing of a 10 cm juvenile specimen in Boulenger's “Fishes of the Nile” that looks exactly like your fish.

Looks like I will have a trio of big cats soon, probably to the end of my life taking their lifespan in consideration
