ID This Large Dark Cory

So I felt the need to poke into the local farm feed store and check out the little 12 tank fish room they had. That was my first mistake as I came home with something they sold to me as a generic Corydora. All I could get from them was he had been brought in by a customer that didn't want it anymore.

Sorry for the lousy picture quality, but I'm terrible at taking photos. It is currently in qt as the guys who work there fix lawn mowers, not fish. The fish is also quite big for any cory I've seen.

Similar, but he doesn't have the metallic sheen, it's almost more of a vinyl/shiny latex sheen. Also his colors are more richer, er, more brown. I would say like a dark brown on cream.

Chances are this is what it is - there is some variation in colour & a small non-specialist shop is unlikely to get anything more unusual - particularly if traded in by a customer as a single fish

Thanks. It at least gives me an excuse to get more cories. They did get an adult male bristlenose in from the same person I believe. He's absolutely gorgeous and coming home with me on Thursday. Just as soon as his q. tank is cleaned up a bit.
