Please help
I'm a breeder of corydoras metae from indonesia
i have 2000 corydoras metae every month, but i'm struggling to sell them
could someone tell me how to sell them???

Based on where you are situated and the quantity you have (nice fish by the way!) I would suggest trying to find a wholesaler/exporter in Jakarta, where there are many, or failing that Singapore.

thanx u for your suggestion ricke, but i have tried some of exporter in jakarta
sadly they told me no one would buy corydoras metae, so its be very big mystery to me. it is true???? please help

if i could to export them by my self, i have no buyer

Well, they are in shops, and I doubt they are all wild-caught (they seem a bit small for wild-caught fish).

I'd try another exporter...

I was just in my LFS and saw that they have about 10 small Metae for sale,($4.99 each) it's the first time I have seen them in stock there, and I would have bought some if my new tank was up and running

, so I would say "YES" there is a market for your fish, don't know if you could offload a few on some of the fish auction websites like this one http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/ ... fwcatfishc , you will have to check to see if there are any restrictions for sellers from your part of the World though.

I have Metae and love them. In fact they were my first cories. I hope you find an exporter. Your fish look great!

No,no, no! I'd love them but it's expensive to ship them. You need someone to clear them through customs, etc. That's why you have to find an exporter. They take care of that.

I would not even bother to try it at this time of year if I was you, the air temp in my area was -12 today, also you need to get the fish through customs for whatever country you are sending to, I really think that all the fish will be dead long before they reach their destination.

You must find an fish exporter in your own country to sort all of this stuff out for you.

BTW: A group of poeple at my local fish forum ordered some fish from Vancouver. BC Canada just last week, and when they arrived in Toronto "also Canada" they got held up by the postal service at the Toronto area depot!!! by the time the fish arrived at their destination half of them were dead, including some of the corys

Being a cory lover I get sad hearing about things like postal hang ups. Beautiful Metae by the way.. Makes me very happy to see such a big happy group!

Shipping fish in cold weather is an art. There are some people who know how to pack the fish correctly for cold conditions - I'm not one of those.

But if you are a beginner exporter, then I'd suggest trying at a period of time when the temperatures at the destination and stopping points are moderate - not TOO hot, and not TOO cold. Shipping for example to Arizona is probably about OK between September and May, but shipping to New York would be best avoiding October to April and July to August.

Shipping to England should avoid October to March.

If you have experience with shipping using "heat packs", then that can be done at the cold time of the year. And warm weather is perhaps less of an issue.

An essential part of successfully shipping tropical fish internationally is to use specialised agents and carriers, not normal postal/courier systems.

Specialists will ensure that the fish are not subject to extremes of temperature (hot or cold) throughout the shipping process including making sure that the cargo is in the heated hold of an aircraft.

The shipment will also be handled with urgency and given priority Customs clearance and airline handling when it arrives in the destination country - often this is within 1-2 hours of the aircraft landing.

Unfortunately none of this is cheap, but it is the only way to ensure the best chances of survival.

hope to find exporters in Indonesia was no longer possible because of the quality of the exporter is not able to guarantee.
I will try to find a way to try to export its own, although with difficulty.
for now I'm able to export from port to port, possibly for the future could be more advanced than today.
