While you are waiting, why not do the eletrics, install the air ring if you are using air and other such jobs ?

theres not a lot needed electrics wise. its basically done apart from plugging in a few 4 ways. as for the air pump im mounting it high and wont be able to run airline until i have racks in place with tanks on :( racking is getting tied in with the wall supports. I have one more job i can do and thats lay the lino

Not an air line . . An AIR RING.

Fit it all the way round the top of the wall or to the ceiling and plumb the airpump into it, then just add a tap where you want the airline to drop to.

My air ring.

yeah wont be running it like that. because its such a small space its not worth it. it will just a splitter straight from the airpump and then single airlines to each tank it will work out cheaper and easier, also i wont need to tap in for more lines because ill have spare taps.

Nice one Joe, get some piccy's up when it's done. I will be attempting a similar project next year in quite a confined space and would be interested in how you set it all up.

Cheers Matt

Racking is all in place. I will take a photo later. I have to cut ply to go on top of the racking, then can start filling tanks.

Looks great Joe, good work! :) You've made good use of the space you've got. What's going in to all these tanks then?

Cheers Matt

Well the top tank on the back wall is going to be my own show tank because i dont have fish tanks in the house. The one under that is going to be a growing out tank, im thinking of splitting the other 4 tanks on the top which are all 30x12x15h and breeding plecs, corys and dwarf cichlids in them. Not decided what to do in the 4ft yet, Ive got 4 light units waiting to be wired in 2 on the top above the sides and 2 under the top tanks at the sides, Im tryin to get hold of some polycarbonate twin wall sheet. It cuts with a stanley knife and is 10mm thick (great insulation its also see through so im going to make condensation trays out of it. All tanks will be 3/4"-1" sand decoration will be smooth rocks and bogwood.
If you look in the picture the left hand rack is shorter than the right hand rack this is because i am building a cupboard to house all the electrics and keep food and treatments etc in.
