what this cory?

Hello, I'm new on this forum and my english is not good, sorry if my words are wrong.
A friend odf mine have this cory taken from a river in Colombia but don't know exactly what cory is...

I was thinking the same.

BTW, picture 3 and the last one in the catelog, is that common coloring of them? I have yet to see any in person that has that indepth of color (the red is stunning in them.)

C.melanotaenia would be my guess, base on the yellow finnage and distribution.

I can only see one picture of a juvenile. It looks like it could be C. venezuelanus, but it's hard to say with such a young fish. Could also be C. melanotaenia or some kind of C. aeneus.

Distribution's off, however. C. venezuelanus has only been found in Northern Venezuela, which makes it unlikely (but not impossible) that they also occur in Colombia.

They are a bit variable and are, of course, more deeply coloured when "happy" but yes, they can be that colourful.

Sorry, can't be c. aeneus or c. venezuelanus or c. melanotaenia... because this is a dwarf cory... have one year old and have 2 cm
