Hi,
local name: Clown pl*co
that would be the common name for Panaque maccus and has nothing whatsoever to do with an Ancistrus species.
Therefore, also the reference to the CoM of November, 2001 (P. maccus) is nonsense.

Cheers, Sandor

There is no reference to Rio Meta in the original description [other than in reference to the material for A. triradiatus that was looked at in defining this as a new species]. Rio Iguacu is a long way away from Rio Meta.

I don't see why this should be called LDA067 or Clown Pleco. It doesn't come from anywhere near that region, it's spotted rater than having lines mixed with dots, which is what "Clown Pleco" is.

The size in the Zootaxa description is 106.2 mm, so I don't know here 60mm comes from - the smallest sampled species is 59.1 mm ...

I will fill in the datasheet from the original description as best as I can. But the above information is almost useless other than as an indication of "This fish doesn't have much information".

Edit: And not that WE care, but the reference for the type specimen is MZUSP 104116 - you are missing a one...

Yes, so about as wrong as wrong could be. Moved to resolved as no further action.
