Females wanted - L200 and L134
Hi,
I have two L200 so far and I think they're both male.
I also have 2 L134 and one is male, the other I'm not sure.
All things considered, even a large L128
I'm not in it for the breeding, more to have a ratio of sexes to watch behaviour differences etc.
I live near Reading, Berkshire.
Email <removed - use PM>
thanks

Yeah I saw that, thanks. Im hoping for a large one and the real dark ones are my preference.
What's your plans, why are you selling one? Did you buy more or are you happy with the two remaining?
Cheers
Gavin

Re: Females wanted - L200 and L134
I started out with 3 fish, thought to be 2 females and 1 male. Unfortunately, growing them on the showed that ALL three were male... As a breeding group, that's no good. So I got myself another female up at Pier a couple of weeks back, and I want to keep the second male "just in case".Flyfisher wrote:Yeah I saw that, thanks. There isn't much difference in size - the largest male of mine is about 140mm, and they are about as large as the larger fish you'll find in the shops. Remember 120mm SL is about 160mm TL (around 6.5") - it's not a small fish. They do look bigger in the tank.
And the colour may not be the darkest blue you'll ever see, but the fish is stressed in the photo, and I can try to get another photo in the tank it is now.
Edit: Moved to "Wanted section", and I just realized that my "My cats" wasn't quite up to date - the L128 only had three fish in it, not my new female [hopefully].

don't you think that finding female plecs in general is quite tough, especially if they're wild caught ?
Fish length is always confusing. So your fish for sale, it's total length is 160mm or thereabouts yes?
If you can send me a better pic to show colouring that would be great, thanks. And I shall let you know soon if I'm interested.
Cheers

Re: Females wanted - L200 and L134
Well, the problem with finding females is that they are often hard to differentiate from subdominant males. And males tend to be a bit easier to catch because they stick to the cave, where females "escape" at teh first sign of danger.
But females aren't impossible to find.
I'll try to get photos soon.
