these look a lot more like Aspidoras than Corydoras.

are they true Corydoras or are they perhaps not identified properly?

good point

I did think the fishes were a bit odd, but could not point my finger on it. It's that Aspidoras look: the highest point of the back is only slightly elevated

The reference source for the description of the two Corydoras species under discussion is : Revista del Museo Argentino de Ciecias Naturales, n.s. 11(2): 199 - 214. 2009.

This journal is available on-line but is about a year or so behind in posting issues.

These fish are almost certainly Aspidoras and will undoubtedly at some point in the future be re assigned to either Aspidoras or even a new genera. There is a lot of work to be done with Corydoradinae, but with a potential 350+ species this is no mean task and one that is going to take some time to complete.

C. gladysae looks like a paleatus got rogered by a Lepthoplosternum!
