I have kept Goeldiella eques in the past. It grows to about a foot in length. It will eat whatever can fit in it's mouth. I have not found them to be particularly aggressive.

One of my favorites. Kept one for 3 years until a move required me to let it go (give it away). Nice temperment, active in dawn/dusk frequently. Underappreciated cat.

Thanks for the info. Mine is great looking, but not active at all, and keeps to his corner. However, it was pretty skinny when it came in, but is eating Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold pellets right now. It is only at about 4.5" maybe, and most likely freshly wild caught and I have only had him for a little over a month. Im looking forward to putting some weight on him, hopefully he will take to the Massivor Pellets soon. What are the growth rate on these guys? I think mine has grown about 3/4" in the month. Any pictures or vids? I just have a few pictures so far when I was getting some of him and my L. pictus.

This species is a tremendous medium size catfish with lots of character & can be quite active (at dawn/dusk as previously indicated) - if yours is not particularly, it might be feeling intimidated by it's tankmates. Generally it is fairly unfussy as to the water parameters

I did not find mine to be a fast grower.

This and Hemisorubim are the cats I most want to keep again, but I need a new, larger tank...

oh, and mine worked out a cave in the gravel under a slab of bog wood, perhaps some cover might help it relax and be more active...

Thanks for the info! I think it probably would like a hiding place, but until my next tank upgrade I dont have the room for the pike cichlid to become territorial. There are some rocks and plants, and it surprisingly doesnt wedge itself in there.
