i got a group of 35 the other day. 9 are mixed trilineatus and possibly julii. the remaining 26 are definately agassizii. to these i will add my 8 odd corys (3 brochis splendens, 3 paleatus, 1 trilineatus, and 1 schwartzi; the trilineatus and schwartzi were in larger groups that died out).

im setting up a 140 gallon tank that will eventually be everyone's home. for now, the new guys are in qt in a 60 by themselves (they are doing swimmingly).

I have a group of wc Agassizi, numbering 30, but 2 died after a month. Was thinking of adding a group of 12 - 20 Sterbai.

Surely that's cheating Richard, most boxes of cories come in with over a hundred in them . How long does it have to be before it counts as 'keeping' them?

Very nice. I have a good dozen (perhaps 14-16) C. sterbai in a 4ft approx 200 liter / 55g tank, and about the same number of C. metae in another 4ft tank. I've been thinking that I should move some of my other C. sterbai (approx from my in the house 5ft/400 liter into the 4ft tank [or the other way around, perhaps?], to increase the group. I also have a fair number of C. sterbai growing out.

I'm sorry I don't know the exact numbers, but these are groups that started out as fry, and have been moved from one grow-out tank to another, and I keep finding the odd fry in a filter or some such, that I just plop in the tank where it belong. So I don't know for sure.

Certainly: bigger shoal is better!

ive been noticing how quickly this bunch settled in. none are acting stressed or odd. ALL are eating like pigs. watching them eat is AMAZING. i watched some sinking wafers disappear in about 20 minutes this morning.

i cant wait to put them all in one tank. i plan to plant the sides and leave the middle open with a large piece of driftwood. i want to see them romp from one end to the other

I got mine in the 125 with some big rocks with open caves and it's amazing when the whole shoal comes bursting out of one of the holes to get food.

I had 12 peppered corys in a 20 long, species only tank.

I have about 12 sterbai cory in a 50 gal , started out with 8. The babies are so adorable, and they grow so fast .

I have 7 panda corys in a 20 long.

I have seen videos of bunches of them in one tank, amazing. actually bunches of any same fish I really really like.

I once had a shoal of 50+ C. hastatus ( that I bred and raised myself )in a 40 gal. planted tank whose tankmates were a school of 25-30 Cardinal tetras and 6 Black-banded Sunfish ( Enneacanthus chaetodon ). Everybody got along famously, with the school of hastatus constantly browsing all the plant surfaces looking for the next tidbit to eat. I enjoyed that tank a lot.

...and to think that I was so proud of my 5 albino aeneas and one cf. delphax...

Yes, I'd like to have such a school once - but I'm nog going to buy 50 corydoras. Therefore I'll have to breed them myself, and the Corydoras I have, WC C paleatus and wc C cf longipinnis, might spawn in spring

But normally they go outdoors in spring, and spawn in autumn

keep your eyes peeled...sometimes good deals come through.

Oooo - cheating sounds a bit harsh - i didn't see a set of rules about this still had to look after them though.

Ok then, at home, up until recently i've only ever kept trios of a few species but now have 10 pygmaeus although they don't shoal at all

one of the most memorable you tubes, to me, fish related, besides synos and pl*cos was a cory one where they added a huge shoal to a tank. it was amazing. check it out:

Wow! absolutely stunning.what is the corydoras in the second video? Its look like C. atropersonatus or C097?

Wow, 1200! Really? That's pretty extraordinary for Cories isn't it? How many did you manage to raise?

I have 7 peppered, 6 panda and 2 metae in one tank - and an oto. They all swim around together and it's pretty cool. The peppereds seem to be in a constant state of spawning lately - mostly because of the daily partial water changes I'm doing to get my tank fully cycled. You have to see them chase that poor female all over the tank! It was cool watching her deposit eggs all over. Don't think any were fertilized, but they ate all of them anyway. It's ok, because my tank is actually overstocked and don't need any babies in there right now. I love it when they're really active. They're so much fun to watch.

so far so good. ive lost 2, but they were very skinny and may have just been weaker than the rest. the rest are fattening up though and the ones with blunted whiskers are showing signs of healing. these little guys are a blast to watch

Over 1,000 youngsters were raised. I raised them in 6 - 18" x 18" x12" tanks.

I have had a shoal of 18 .

They were beautifull when swimming as a shoal.

I have never seen them show any breeding behaviour. They al died on me over a period of just five years which was disappointing. I never found out what I did wrong.

Atm i have 15 Trilineatus (8 of these juvis i raised varying 3 to 6 months old)with a further 17 fry at the moment,6 skunks,6 pandas & 11 pygmys...

I now find myself with a small group of 6 Weitzmani to go along with my Pygmaeus - quite shy but an attractive species nontheless.
