Hi you enthousiasts,
Next week we are finally moving and i'm making plans for the tanks as they have to move too, and it's an ideal moment to improve ore make changes.
I'm the proud owner of 5 L-066, 3 males and 2 females. I would like to try breeding attempt.
After reading a lot of usefull info on this site i came up with the following setup.
Pls tell me where to improve as this is the moment i can, after moving i don't want to disturb the fishes to much.
Could anyone also tell me what's the best, tankmates or not, for a breeding attempt?
Tanks.

Tank 100x40x40cm
Filter JBL E-900 (900ltrs-hr)
x-tra pump Koralia 1 (1500ltrs/hr)
Caves for the males, lots of wood, no plants and only a small led-light.
Taking care of water parameters and temp.

Pls let me know if i'm doing wrong.

Sounds good, and now is probably a good time to start a breeding attempt, as it's coming up for "breeding season" in Brazil.

Who knows how they relate to seasons, but I know many plecos spawn in the spring here, which is the same season as they do in Brazil. Whether they have a biological clock, or it's just coincidence, or whatever, I have no idea.

Hmm, i think our local wheather-girl could learn something.
Btw i decided that the first born will be sold and the money donated to this great site.

I used to give mine prawns to feed them up and hikari carnivore tablets, once they are fattened up and gravid give them a nice cold water change and let them do the buisness, patience is needed but once they have spawned they should do so on a regular basis.
O yes make sure you have a good water flow round the tank, point the outlet of a power head towards the entrance of the cave.
Good Luck :D

Thanks for those reply's.
About "Hikari". I can't find the carnivor tablets. I have Hikari algae wafers, sinking wafers, micro wafers and micro pellets. The other brand i use is JBL; novo tab, novo fect and novo pleco. For my carnivore fihes i ad fresh food.
Is there a site where i could order those Hikari carnivore tablets?

Thanks Marsbar, i began to think it was a myth, reading about it on this site and not finding it in the shops.
I even saw the distributer's (he delivers hikari to the shops...) list of availeble products and those carnivore pellets where not on it. But now... seing is believing. I'm gona order it through e-bay and show it to them. 8)
