I got this little guy about a mounth ago. I was told he is a Speckeld Cat, but that his Species was Ictalurus Punctatus, which can't be seeing how that is a Channel Catfish. His body looks more like one of my Black Bullheads, and he likes to hang with them.

Wow, that's a beauty! And the fact that he only gets 11 inches or so is a bonus. And that he like cooler water  Where did you get him? Was it a fish shop? I would love to find something like this for sale.

Did you get it locally, as in from Wisconsin? If so, it would be (aka speckled bullhead).

Yes, I got this little guy from my local pet store, ANIMART In Madison, WI. The Fish Department Manager, Frank is A.W.E.S.O.M.E, although he gets frustrated that his suppliers make up names for some of the fish he gets.

this little guy is more grey and black then brown and yellow. Does anyone think he might be an Ameiurus Platyceophalus, the Flat Bullehad?

I do not believe so. I am against ANIMART now due to the fact that once they moved out of their old building their prices tripled. I used to take in my overflow of fish, but they started giving less and less and charging more and more. They frequently have fish labled wrong. I went in there to buy some neolamprologus leleupi... they had them listed and sold as Mustax.. which CLEARLY they were not, but for a 2" fish they were charging $35. you can buy them online with shipping for less and get better quality.

BTW, I do not think they have a license to sell native fish, so if you paid anything, I am sure they are in violation with the law.
