Ignorance is NOT bliss

Post by Timberwolf »

I was just reading through the CotM listing for the Ansistrus cats and found yet another notation that stumped me: the listing talked about the fish as Ansistrus cf. cirrhosus (forgive my butchered spelling). I finally figured out the the "sp" (as in Ansistrus sp3) means species, but what does the "cf" mean? Is there a glossary page here that I have managed to miss? It would be great if there was.

Thanks, Dave. I took a quick look and it is better than I hoped. My wife thinks I know just enough to be dangerous, but just wait 'til I've had some quality time with this glossary!
