I thought the purpose of having separate forums for each region should solve that problem...

to an extent but when someone has limited time & just looks at the subject on the homepage , the forum sometimes goes unseen (even if it is only 4 or 5 inches on the right hand side)

Here is a pic of A. albater. They are a very nice species and possibly the easiest fish to spawn I have ever encountered. Juvenile and spawning pair, shown. - Frank

Thank You So Much, Mr. Frank for your own photos to post in this post. Your photos are so clear and so pretty. I am really appreciated very much. :)

I am trying to post my own photos about this Aspidoras as well, but I still couldn't make it yet, but I am still trying to do that. I am so busy for school and work at the same time. And, I know that for sure I couldn't make as prettier as your photos, but I will try to post it. :(

Thank you so much again, Mr. Frank.

The opinion on this fish in Europe is that it is not A. albater but a new species. This species has been DNA-sequenced, and it will be nice to see how it fall in between the other Aspidoras that has been looked at...I guess we will know around Convention time ;)

Anyway, they are fantastic and beatiful fish! I hope my 4 will grow til breedable size soon...

Hi Kim. Yes. I have heard that. That would be very exciting. I'm happy to have gotten them to your side of the pond, by way of Erik Schiller.

Excellent.

They are incredibly easy to spawn. They generally lay their eggs in the outlet tube of a sponge-filter, on the water return lip of a power filter or in each corner of the tank, above the water line. Occasionally they will actually deposit eggs on the glass or in java moss, but not very often. lol.

Cheers. - Frank

Sounds like the usual Aspidoras-egglaying-site...like C125, A. cf. rochai and A. taurus anyway :)

my aspidoras albater put most of their eggs in java moss and on the glass. the filter doesn't seem to appeal to them. they are spawning like crazy!!! see more eggs every 7-10 days. started with ten, now have around 60!! have sold and given some away as well. :D
