i read every where that they are boring fish and never swim, mines is fairly active and very active when its feeding time and eats from my hands and comes too the surface too eat, does any one elses e-cats do this? whats the biggest that you have seen and head of them getting in an home aquarium? iv head 18" and 5 years old in a 55 gallon.
mine is about 6" and in a 33 gallon, soon too be in a 70 and upgraded as needed, the e-cat is by far my favorite fish now.any have any storys on how there e-cats are?

They are not as inactive as some make them out to be. At least the ones I have kept display occasional bouts of activity, which is considerably heightened around feeding time.
They are incredibly smart fish and it's not too difficult to tame them enough to be able to hand feed them. I could swear that mine was smart enough to distinguish me from the different people walking past the tank and swim out in anticipation of food.
