I wish I was. Unfortunately, several things conspiring against it, not the least the cooker breaking a few weeks ago - £400 for a new one sort of "ate" the ticket/hotel money... Have a great time, all that ARE going, and looking forward to seeing at least some of you at the CSG conference.

Looking forward to the meeting:)

Anyone wants juvenile L46 or juvenile L200? If so make contact as early as possible on Friday after 11 in the morning. L200 juveniles are approx 1 year old 30 euro each. L46 are 6 months old 70 euro each.

It will be so cool to meet so many of you

I'm in, of course...

Yann and ABP are going to spend the night at home from this evening. Tomorrow morning, early fishing session :

- L25 mature male to catch in the 1600 liters, by night
- L25 babies to catch in the 160 liters nursery (much easier)

packing and then... let's go !

we should leave from home around 8 am tomorrow, travelling by car to arrive in the late afternoon in Hannover...

the 3 of us are in Achats Hotel too... like almost everyone, I guess.

see you there !

I love how all these convention threads start full of good intentions. Then you get there and spend three days drinking beer and talking fish and nobody updates the thread until they get home. Hope you all are having a blast.

Of course - but at least us that aren't there can infer that all is well, a lot of beer is drunk, and everyone is talking fish, rather than updating the thread here in some attack of boredom.

I second that, Mats :D Sure would've been nice to participate though. The list of speakers is pretty impressive. I can only imagine the engagement in the conversations as the beer starts to flow

Well, it was a blast. The talks ranged from very good to excellent and the venue was first class. Giving a translated lecture is actually easier and, I think, ends up in a better presentation that going it alone. While the translator is speaking in the other language, you have time to think your next words. It also helped that for both my talks I had Hans Georg Evers for a translator.

A great weekend strategically also I think and also great to meet a bunch more Planet Catfish guys "in the flesh".

A few beers were had.

Oohh my god!! :D
The first picture from this event is showing Hovard and me drinking beer!! :D
At the intuduction by Ingo, Hovard reached for my book and knocked my beer to the floor with a huge crash...
Ingo then ordered; -No more beer for the norwegian people!
-In all a good start for an exelent event!

So, which of those four was actually your beer..? :P :D
And whom do you blame for the others?

I can´t really express how great this event was! How many centuries of catfish experience did we have there?
The only really sad thing is, that it will take two years till the next one..

..and for those who couldn´t be there, some names for the speakers (sorry, not smart enough to quote that picture):

front row:
Lucia, Ulrich, Wolfgang, Haavard, Johannes, Elko
back row:
Hans, Udo, Rainer, Andi, Jools, Rolo, Ingo.

Still a bitt hoarse, but it was more than worth it!
Cheers, Sandor

a great week-end, very rich and true human contacts, lots of very intense discussions (in German, in English, sometimes even in French) and for me, a real moment of grace, on Sunday evening in a certain restaurant of Hannover with this more little team (the ones who stayed one more night before leaving)...

Great, really great moments ! I have no pictures, but a lot of them did a thousand for us all...

Man I so wanted to go to that, but the cost was somewhat large from the other side of the planet

Does anyone know if the lecture notes will be published?

krazyGeoff wrote:Does anyone know if the lecture notes will be published?
yes,
the event magazin is to buy.
But in the moment we have just the german version printed.
In the next time we'll publish the english version as a pdf.
Please look sometimes on our website. On the startingpage I'll put the newest informations.
