An importer real close to me occassionally has them on their list for special order (not in stock). They said they ordered them but got the wrong ones (not sure if it is a different species of Bagarius or a different kind altogether).

Anyway with Bagarius bagarius, what tanks can they go in?

How fast growers are they, and what size fish can an adult be expected to eat (as in, what is the minimum size fish that can be housed with an adult Bagarius bagarius)????

Not having kept one, I'll just answer what I think.
There is only one registered keeper of on PC, which means it's a very unsual fish to find.
I would imagine growth to be not rapid, but you'd want to give it the room for a full grown fish from day 1. It will take whatever it can fit in it's mouth, and am sure the size of it's mouth is bigger than you realise, until it's too late that is!
It obviouslt requires cooler water than most, according to the cat-elog, 18-23C, and the tank should be laid out with sand and rounded stones and with fast running, highly oxygenated water, which is what you would find in the rapids this fish lives in.
I don't think it's an openly predatory fish, but will strike at anything it sees as food if it comes too close (as Chaca do). This is a fish I'd love to keep in a species only tank, but with the chance it could be one of it's bigger cousins, this i not the sort of fish you see often, if ever.

Well if they got a different species of Bagarius in, like the Goonch one, if it is small I'll probably end up getting one for the novelty and decide as it grows whether to keep it or not. if I don't keep it obviously I'll find a good home for it. I'm sure someone from Monsterfishkeepers would love to have a goonch catfish LOL.
