Never heard of this fish. I know that L255 can be found near Sao Felix. Other Rio Xingu Ancistrus are L159, L100, L34. Is this just a name on a stocklist, or do you have pictures or seen the fish?

Google turns this up on several lists, but I wasn't able to find any more information - it would be from Brazil, but I'm not entirely sure if Rio Xingu is the only place where a placename of Sao Felix exists - it is not entirely unusual for the same name to crop up in several places in large countries - even more so in the Americas...

I finally have the fish in hand, well they are recovering at a friends house. Interesting little fish. I have taken a few pics that I will post once I have them off the camera, they are fairly uniformly tan color about 1/5 inches. The ones I take to be males have two small barely visible "tentacles". I am sure the color will change as they adjust to their tank. The proper locality is Sao Francisco and not Sao Felix.

I finally have a few less than spectacular images to post of the fish in questions. These were taken immediately after unpacking, so far they are eating well and looking good.

Ahhh Come on you guys are killing me LOL. No ideas at all from these admittedly poor photos?

Not entirely sure what you want us to say... The photos aren't showing some stunning fish, they are brown, non-descript, apparently Ancistrus species fish. Until you show pictures of them in a tank and their natural colouration, it's not much we can say, I think.

Looks like you have more males than females, but it's not that easy to tell from the pictures.

No worries, I really do understand how hard it is to tell anything from these pictures. They were taken immediately after they were unbagged. I will try to get some better pictures next week when the person currently keeping them is back in town. I do agree that they are not a very inspiring fish at the moment and certainly hope that once they get adjusted they get better looking. However if they stay as small as they are rumored to they will be an interesting fish regardless. I do appreciate your comments all the same.

Yes, lets hope they turn out nice.

But my point was rather that you seem to expect that someone would comment on your previous post - but there was no question or statement that made anyone want to post.

By the way, if you can get some pictures once they are settled in, I think we can add them to the Cat-eLog...

Will be glad to contribute some pictures once they settle in. Ahh the joy of internet communication where it becomes so easy to miscommunicate. Will keep you posted as to how these thing turn out.
