WANTED in the UK
(London area)

Rare catfish from peru.
Goslinea Platynemum / But sometimes also reffered to as Tabla Barba
Also known commonly/locally as slobbering catfish.

The smaller the better as these wonderful fish do not travel well at larger sizes.
Ideally settled & feeding.

Thanks & regards

Rob

I've not seen these often at all in the UK in my fishkeeping time (30+ years). BAS have definately had them & i think Lynwood Fish House did too but this was years ago & these stores are now gone.... :(

Neil at Pier aquatics has some large & unusual pims at small sizes so might be your best bet (although this is Wigan) - i am not sure about the London area - some good stores but this is a very seldom offered sp as there is miniscule call for them in general

You could try Wildwoods or Wholesale tropicals. They are the most likely shops to get unusual fish. But if Richard hasn't seen them ever, they are really not that common.

Cheers for the input guys!
My friend at Wildwoods is on the case and managed to get my one a few yrs ago, unfortunately it never settled and never feed and i lost it after about 3-4 wks.

Have also spoken to Neil @ Pier and he is on the case also :D
Figers crossed, huh.
Guess i'll have to be patient.

Spelling the name correctly might help your search

The correct spelling is Goslinia platynema, but the genus Goslinia is a synonym of Brachyplatystoma, so is now B. platynemum.

Good luck.

Will do.

I know very little about the supplier in question & for a fish like this need to make sure it is settled and feeding ideally.
These fish are notoriusly bad travellers.

Will let you know how i get on.
Fingers crossed.

The Eagle has landed !!!!

Picked mine up on Sunday.
Absolute out of this world stunning fish, around 7".

Can't thank Wildwoods & Keith Lambert in particular enough for all their efforts in both getting these magnificent fish and then in the general care & well being of these fish.
They couldn't have been more helpful, held the fish for a number of weeks to make sure they where settled & feeding before being offered for sale and then held one for me whilst we tested & matched our water chemistry's ....pH etc before collection.
Excellent service & a magnificent fish.
