Just had to share that I found a black lancer cat fish at the LFS and just had to have it!!

It's about 6cm, looks nice and healthy. Haven't seen one before, does anyone know if they are all that common in Australia?

I'm very very excited in any case :D

Just had to share, cos my non-fishkeeping friends and family just don't get it lol

A real beauty of a fish - male or female? (easy to tell with an obvious genital papillae on males)

Post a pic when you can :D

Such a brilliant catfish - you'll have great enjoyment keeping it.

Not only do may friends and family not get it, my Mum even admitted that if I wasn't her daughter she'd think I was strange lol. My eldest daughter who is 7 shares the obsession tho! We have just had baby platys born and she told me to drive faster to get home to see them and if the yweren't in a fish tank she'd kiss them

Am not seeing any genital papillae, so am guessing female at the moment. Will try and figure out how to take decent pictures through fish tank glass!!

At 6cm TL it will be barely visible if at all.

Will keep my eye out in the future then for anything resembling genital papillae
