Someone's been nipping at my catfish's fins! =>:(
Hey all, I just went to feed my cats and noticed that the fins on my big 15cm long Arius Graeffi (Salmontailed Catfish) have big chunks missing out of them. (I'm proud of my graeffi, he's my favourite catfish in the tank)
I've recently added 4 new fish to the tank in the last 2 days...
1 x Albino Shark
1 x Rainbow Shark
2 x Aussie Tandanus Catfish
I'm pointing the finger at the tandans because they are always in the salmontailed's sleeping log. But what of the sharks? Could they be responsible? The Sharks and Tandans are roughly 2 inches long. They are in a 3 foot tank (though it could be 2 and half, but I think its 3)
I've seen the rainbow shark constantly chasing the poor albino one around the tank, but yeah... anyone got any ideas?
PS: The only other tankmates are a few tiny brine shrimp and feeder guppies and a small 3cm bristlenose pleco.

Aha!
What about the albino shark? It's identical to the rainbow shark except its white with red fins/eyes...
I'll have to take them both out of the tank, might take em back to the shop and exchnage em for another bristlenose or something, I only have one other tank (small) and its currently home to my siamese fighter... I guess I'd be asking for trouble if I tossed the sharks in with the fighter?

Albino Shark...
Yeah, the Albino Shark is identical to the Rainbow Shark - it looks exactly the same, but its white with red fins/eyes... its just your typical common aquarium albino. Cost about $2 each.
I've taken both Sharks out last night. But they are in a glass bottle. Not much fun in there. The only other tank I have is the simaese fighter (betta) tank.
Should I chuck the sharks in with the betta? Or will they kill each other? My betta is pretty docile towards other fish as long as he isn't bubblenesting (he goes agro when he's getting ready for spawning)
