Got a pic of the three stooges this morning but the cory has such a look that I just had to post it. He won't be winning any beauty prizes.

Thanks Glenny! It's rare that I can snap a pic that's somewhat clear AND have such a triple pose at the same time

Thanks, andywoolloo! The goofy look on that cory's face is just priceless. I've always wanted to put together a calendar of 'smiling' catfish. Maybe it's my own prejudice but I think catfish have more smile-pics than any other fish.

I think we should have a "how many species, genus and familes can you get in one picture" (clearly visible and without photoshop cut'n'paste work)?

Brilliant idea! Good for newbies to see what catfish are compatible too.

You may have to start a new thread for that. :beardy:

Who said they need to be compatible? A picture of fish A eating fish B would comply with the rules of my competition - if they are different species, that's two points at least.

I think the point scoring system is:
1 point for each different species
1 point for each genus
1 point for each family
(classification according to the Cat-eLog at the time of entry)

So in your case, you have
three species 3 points
three genera 3 points
two families 2 points
Total 8 points.

 This is true. Just hope no one flings a fish in to 'win'. All catfish or mixed?

This could produce some very cool pictures. Let the games begin.

The smiling L-021
:D Thanks Glenny! He's smiling as my desktop background now. Almost looks like he's laughing!

I'm guessing your picture is a winner at the moment. Don't know if MatsP meant just catfish but here's my attempt at what's there.
Looks like:
a zebra loach
4 L numbers (2 panaque??) Sorry not good at the L# ID's
2 different tetras
Chain loach in the background?
Huge L number on the right side (don't know if partial fish will count, Mats?)
3 different corys
who the small fish that looks somewhat cory like but small and svelte, black and white spotted with a black patch on the top fin?
Tail of something on lower left. (partial again)

That's my very newbie guesses. Am I close?

Hey MatsP,

You may have to rename your game to Beat Glenny's Points.

Ok, so we are only counting catfish - not tetras and loaches.

Families: 2, Loricariidae, Callichtyidae
Genera: 5, Hypancistrus, Peckoltia, Corydoras, Aspidoras, Pterygoplichthys
Species: 10, 4 x Hypancistrus, L134, C. sterbai, C. reticulatus (?), C. aeneus(?), Aspidoras sp., Common pleco.
Total:17 .

I don't think that will be easy to beat, but someone with a larger number of families/genera would be getting close.
