Sorry to start off by questioning the correctness of the ID of this fish, but did this fish really come from Brazil, or the very similar looking fish from Peru? If it's from Peru, it's unlikely to have come all the way from the eastern Brazil to make it back across the Atlantic.
There was some discussion earlier on the subject of L178 and other similar Lasiancistrus species.

I would love to see pictures of it to compare. Mine is getting chunky. I plan on moving him to my catfish only tank that will be up here in the next couple of weeks, but I would rather have him thrive in the tank he is in.

only thing I have noticed is it is VERY similar to panq. maccus (clown pleco) He will not touch veggies/algae wafers/ carnivor tabs or anything, just gnaws on wood.

There are several wood eating Lasiancistrus spp, but not all Lasiancistrus are wood eaters. Some day someone will have to decide if the wood eaters need to separated out from a taxonomic standpoint. I would also be curious to see how different the dentition is between the two groups.
