Diagnostic Help

Post by Greggo »

I need to find someone that can do lab cultures and other diagnostic test on aquarium fish. Preferably located in the USA. I get a nasty, reocurring disease in some of my cichlid tanks that is incurable with any standard aquarium medications.

If anyone knows of someone that can do this type of diagnostic testing, I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

You should definitely contact your local veterinarians office. They would have references for a lab you could send things off to. If that's not something you want to do, you can sometimes find used microscopes for a reasonable price. There are numerous sites and books with different bacteria morphology pictures. Sorry I'm not more help.

Could you by any chance describe the symptoms you are having with the cichlids, and which type they are? How many tanks are affected and what your standard quarantine policy is?
