Ebay is a good source of bulk foods in general.

Many fish shops can order bulk food. Just ask them. Ebay might be cheaper.

Yes, obviously, if all you need is a bigger tub of something, then that's an option. If you are looking to for better price in general, rather than better price for a bigger pack, then Ebay is better. Of course, it also means there is a risk that the LFS doesn't make enough money to stay in business, and next time you have an unplanned desperate need (e.g. medication or a broken pump needing spares/replacement), you do not have a LFS to visit.
When it comes to larger packs, my LFS regularly stocks 250g packs of Hikari Algae Wafers. A couple of weeks ago, they had a 1kg pack in stock. That was about £45, where the 250g packs are about £13. So you save about £7 over buying the smaller packs. Which isn't very much, considering the extra money outlay (and the risk of loosing a decent amount of food if you have some sort of leak/accident with the food itself - I have on occasion had an overflowing tank get my food-shelf wet!)
