profile info indicates the water parameters as soft, acid black water. Their flattened morphology indicates a design well suited for strong currents. MapsP is correct about cautioning against characterizing the water condition of a large river system but most fish are collected from smaller tributary streams and those tend to be soft, acid water for the Orinoco sources with very few exceptions.
The frequency of reported aquarium spawns is pretty good for this species which indicates a typical small pleco breeding set up is applicable to these fish. I doubt they are anymore or less different than the difficulties encountered with other frequently bred Hypancistrus or Peckoltia spp. IME, soft water seems to be more important than low pH for the small plecos. I think you would be successful in pH of up to 7.2 as long as the water is fairly soft. In terms of TDS, I would recommend about 50 ppm.

I'v seen some adult L052 for sale and wondering how to breed them, for those who have seen my previous posts I'v been focusing on Hysp. sp, so are these any harder/easyier to breed, I know these are slightly more veggie than hyspancistrus but what about breeding triggers and tank environment, eg do they require as much flow as hysp. sp.
