I have two S-Lucipinnis questions.
1) How many eggs will they produce in one batch ?
2) What's they're natural habitat, I Think "Litoral " ?

Hi,
Lots of info on their page, not sure if it answers your specific egg # question but it does have some location information. You can also click on the link at the bottom of the page that has this fish as the CotM (Catfish of the Month) for June 2001. This link will tank you to their regular page:
Pretty fish, eh?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Littoral_Zones.jpg defines what the littoral zone is - obviously Lucipinnis cannot inhabit all of it (see diagram) but they are found in shallower waters of tanganyika than some of the other species.

A single female can lay about 500 eggs, but over the years that I have produced them about half of the eggs would hatch this is not a very accurate count, out of two females I would get an average of 500 fry even though the tank looks like most of the eggs have turned white.

wow , that's alot of babies!
I have 6 of them in their own and they like the sand bottom and the rocks and stones and decorations. They swim and wind all thru them and are very active.
