The fish has died but i,m really curious and a little worried about what he had
I really hope it,s not some kind of parasite

Image
notice how there is some sort of thorn protruding from the body in te middle of this "bubble"

Image
The fish looks seriously deformed, has a bledthrough eye on the right side (left eye)
also right above his right Pelvic fin (picture left) there is another "bubble" protruding from it,s skin

Any help with identification is really welcome

I'd say it's an internal bacterial infection. Which is unfortunately very hard to cure.

In my experience, it's not a very contagious problem, but is usually cause by a number of factors in combination (too much protein in the food, stress on the fish in general, and perhaps poor water quality - not all has to be in a particular case).

I do weekly water changes 30-40% and use an additive to make the water "fishfriendly" (biotopol)
i have another 4 otocinclus which all look healthy enough and are slim compared to this specimens size (before the infection)
My other fish look healthy enough
Stress could be the case though.........taking into consideration those 9 Y. Sidthimunki.........

ottos are unfortunately not very hardy fish. with an average lifespan of 2 years they don't last long. I find that they are very easily fine one day then dead the next. I had several ottos for over 5 months one day they both just died. within hours of each other. None of the other fish were affected. They are a fun fish to keep , but just die to easily.
