Post by Silurus »

Synopsis by Shane Linder

In the April 1997 issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine, Dr. Warren Burgess describes Corydoras coriatae from the Rio Aquaytia, a branch of the Rio Ucayali, Peru. This is a long-snouted species that attains a standard length of atleast 64.8mm. An indepth discussion of the relationships of C. coriatae and C. fowleri is also presented in the paper. Colour photos of the new species are also present as well as black and white photos of the holotype of C. fowleri. No habitat information is given.
