Synopsis by Shane Linder

Ng Heok Hee and Ike Rachmatika have described a new Pseudomystus species from Bentuang Karimun National Park, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Pseudomystus flavipinnis can be differentiated from all other members of the genus by the absence of dark markings on all rayed fins, except the dorsal fin, which has a single dark stripe. The body is dark with a series of stripes very similar to the markings of P. siamensis, P. fuscus, P. albicollaris, P. bicolor, and P. rugosus.

The authors' paper should be of great interest to all fans of Asian catfishes.
