Hi all.

Could someone explain me what are difference between theese two genera, if there are.

How could someone recognise one or other?
Wich species belong two wich genera? (meaning the most current species)

Wich denomination is valid?

Could someonde recommand me a great reading for this as a reference (article on the Internet, if possible...)

Thanks!

Here at Planet Catfish [in the Cat-eLog - members of the forum are allowed their own opinion of course], we follow the Jon Armbruster descriptions, which hold Liposarcus in synonym with Pterygoplichthys - so there's no difference.

Edit: Original post regarding the publication of the synonymy:

I think the document is available on Armbrusters website, but I'm not sure.

OK, no matter with this, I completely agree with Armbruster's denominations;

Therefore, wich one is the oldest between thoses genera names?

Well, the name we use for the Cat-eLog is Pterygoplichthys (which follows Armbruster in the document in the linked thread and on Armbrusters website), so I suppose that is the oldest one - although sometimes it doesn't quite work like that.
